if it weren't for the slight sliver of hope I still desperately cling onto that my kids still have the possibility to have a happier experience with life than I had, I would've taken the express route off this ride years ago.

I was just a few dotted I's and crossed t's into finishing a plan when I learned I was having twins. So now I stick around, trying my best to give them the best experience with life that I possibly can. I'm not great at it, my personal life isn't any better, I still hate everyone in this terrible world, but seeing them happy makes me smile. So there's that.

4/10. Feels like I'm about 10 years behind where I should be.

29, living with my folks, just started being able to save some money last year. I have a 2 year degree and a half decent job but it's by no means a career. Trying to move to another state soon to be with long distance SO but can't manage to move to the next town over at the moment.

I've got great friends, good health, the present day-to-day ain't that bad, but trying to get my future in order has proven to be quite the bitch. Just felt stuck for a long time.

I have a job that gets me by. I'm not in a terrible financial place, but I'm not where I want to be. The stress from financial stuff is less than in the past. I have great kids. I have cats that love to piss me off as much as they love me. Sometimes I'm lonely when it's just me and the cats. 7 out of 10. C sounds about right.

My life's pretty much 9-10/10, and the things I'm unhappy about are both small all things considered and also mostly in my hands (and any changes haven't been made because I'm lazy and unfocused but still a future possibility). Most of the things I'm grateful for I've gotten completely for free, not thanks to any personal effort, like my upper middle class upbringing, my slightly cuckoo but very loving mom, my curious disposition, my depth and speed of thought, my empathy and prosociality (despite being such a proud and, at times, reclusive person), meeting my now-wife in the unlikeliest of places, renewing my faith in God... I've been given a lot, it's hard to be ungrateful (but I still manage sometimes, lol). 🙏👍

Quite happy. I've made some bad decisions, like hanging myself, but I wouldn't be who I am today if I hadn't, so I don't regret them. I'm just happy to have learned, and come out OK. If I hadn't done that I'd have graduated university a year earlier, gotten a different job than the one I have now, never met the woman I'm married to, etc. My life might have been better, but it would certainly have been different. And I very much like the life I have now, so even though I've made some objectively bad decisions I don't regret them. I cannot change the past, and doing so would not be worth the cost, so I have no regrets. I am content.

It could be better but it often feels out of my control. 6/10

I'm in a very pleasant phase of my life. I've had a rollercoaster life with some deep lows in my twenties and thirties. But ever since I hit 40 my life has been much better. Stable job, stable relationship, stable home, in good health. Solid 8. But with very clear career and relationship goals, so ask me again in 10 years.
