What's that!? You wanna say that again! Because I have audio processing issues and didn't understand you the first time.

This post is for casual conversation if you don’t feel like making a post of your own.

talking about audio processing issues, do you have problems with being able to like prioritize the audio input? Like background noise feels just as loud as the conversation you're trying to have. And if someone else is close enough for you to pick up their conversation as well, oh boy, is that a toughie

I am basically deaf in loud environments like bars and some restaurants.

I'm constantly asking people to repeat themselves, especially at work. After two or three failed attempts people start treating me like I'm stupid.

I'm not stupid, it's just that the radio, the equipment, the alarms, and the dozens of conversations happening around us are drowning out my tinnitus. And you want to mumble out a complex conversation without saying "hey listen" to get my attention first. Like a stupid person.

I need a better job. One that doesn't make me feel stupid

the start of today was too peopley (someone stayed out of bed long enough to be there when i got up to get breakfast, then proceeded to not go back to bed until after i’d already finished my food)

I made up a little basket of toys/activity books for a group of engineers including myself lol

"You like Sonic The Hedgehog?"

Yeah, man, that's a prerequisite!

(I missed out of the sonic mania but I thought it was HILARIOUS)

It's been on my desk in a shopping bag for like a month because I am bad at tasks and also slightly self conscious, but I put it out today with people like the idea so that's fun. Hopefully everyone can feel a little more comfy while trying to survive capitalism.
