They do. They just typically don't sell vintage food. You can get this cereal on ebay. Be sure to make a video of yourself eating it so you can gloat later.

One of my local thrift shops keeps a bunch of free food by the register, and you can take whatever you want, even if you didn't buy anything there that day.
