The video reviews both the visual translation (looking at text) as well as live transcription features of different smart glasses. There's some through the lens footage for all of them.

Not sure why all the downvotes in this almost unused community. I thought it was interesting to see glimpses of the various displays. For most of these glasses there's clearly a lot of work to be done on usability since the process of using these features is far too involved for everyday use.

People seem very trigger-happy about anything that could risk privacy. Also wouldn't doubt some ill-intended people follow the community just to downvote it.

You're probably right. Just seems almost every post in an AR community is going to have some privacy implications considering that cameras are very rarely not involved and this video doesn't detail anything especially serious when it comes to those.

The xreal air 1 proved you can do a lot with AR without cameras. I wish companies would focus on maturing those use cases and make cameraless devices mainstream.

Not sure what those glasses in particular have that other display glasses don't, but in the context of AR cameras are just basically inevitable as we progress towards more advanced devices since they're the only way to do 6dof tracking anywhere and you need a model of the world to do much.

I think we can do a lot of useful things with just 3dof. Those glasses had great head tracking without cameras.
