The key for me is that coffee costs £0.10 to make it at home vs £2.50 at the shop.

This is exactly why I invested in a higher-end drip machine and consistently buy better beans. If my coffee at home sucks, I'll stop and get some at a shop. And by keeping it in-house I'm definitely coming out ahead in the long-run.

also if you just want caffeine you can just eat coffee beans or take caffeine pills (with l-theanine optionally or an adaptogen to take the edge off)
