Paraphrased, "The festival for [sic] killing Jews where we used to burn effigies of Jewish people and ask how many Jews we killed (drinks we drank) remembering a pogrom of killing Jewish people isn't anti-semetic."

Suuuure it isn't.

my school in Barcelona did that, we made an effigy to burn, being the only Jewish kid in school was awkward.

I have heard that racism was prevalent in Europe in the 80's. My mother observed that black US military members were directed to live on a different part of town from the white ones by real estate agents.

no idea about 80s, that was in the early 2000s.

Also had a teacher called Matamoros... The American equivalent would be "[n-word]lyncher". They then go like "I'm not racist, I just have a racist name and heritage I want to preserve"

Just change it to Matar Capitalista and everyone will be happy

The only thing that remains from the original is the name. Nowadays, it’s all about drinking during Holy Week. Most people don’t even realise that ‘Judíos’ refers to Jews. If you're surprised by the contradiction, the article refers to drinking lemonade. Well, that lemonade doesn't contain any lemons.

Interesting. I still have a hard time preserving traditions of hate. Maybe one day the names will even die away, and the only thing left is the watered down wine.

"It's not antisemitic at all! We kill them because they are running a secret cabal of bankers and industrialists aiming to subvert Western nations to be subsumed under a greater Zionist empire!"

Absolutely unhinged tradition

As far as some hunhinged traditions are worth remembering, maybe we can let this one slide. keep the lemonade wine though. Best drink for a summer day
