/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

I'm with Janeway on this one. If some new dude took away my 2 coffee bros and there was a way to get them back, he'd be gone in no time even if he was a messiah.

Edit: Sliders did a similar thing, but they kept theirs. Whether the show went down because of that or it was already burning out, I can't say.

I can't fathom why they couldn't keep both. You have teleporters. Duplicate him instead of destroying the reference, then split the original back into Neelix and Tuvok. It's so blindingly simple, and the morally logical step when the new being wants to live. Send him on his own adventures if you don't want to add the overhead, hell...

Thomas Riker's continued existence reinforces your argument.

Perhaps writer reinforced conundrum?

The reverse plot armor. A plot iron maiden.

Sliders was definitely already burning out. It was getting shaky by the end of season two. They killed off Rhys-Davies' character in season three because he was openly critical of the drop in writing quality. By the time they pushed Jerry O'Connell out at the end of season four, the show was pretty much over.

They send the heart police, to / put you under, cardiac arrest / And as they drag you through the door, they tell you / that you've failed the test

the buggles are best known for radio star but they also had a bunch of cool scifi songs inspired by J.G. Ballard. definitely worth a listen if you like TOS-style retrofuture cheese
