My initial thought was "pass" but as I type this, if it's not too terrible I could get my family to watch it that insists anime is only for children

brb. telling my wife I got permission to show Akira and Perfect Blue to our four year old.
Yeah, I don't think it'll be bad. However, Kiki is so ubiquitous with Ghibli in cinema, it'll be hard to avoid the comparisons.
Note that this is based on the original novel, it's not actually affiliated with the Ghibli movie.
