Combine both together in one sentence:

I can't afford to align with my current financial strategy.

Literally my neighbor when the agreed upon amount of some fence work became due. “ I’m a financial advisor, I plan my finances and this isn’t a big enough emergency to use my emergency fund. I simply did not plan on this. Goodbye. “

So he backed out of his own word?

Yes. We needed to replace a fence that was originally his, but we decided since we both get use from it we’d go 50/50 or we knew it just wouldn’t get done. He insisted that WE owned the fence and we needed to solely replace it. After proving he indeed had it installed before we lived here, he said he’d get a quote. He called the company, he sent them to our house as well to talk to us AFTER talking to him. I watched that happen.

We schedule and my husband signs the paperwork and we give the company the money. I didn’t know my husband did that. I thought he just paid our half, to be fair his work has been stressful and the fence had fallen down completely by this point and with dogs in the mix we needed it done.

The workers show up a week later and we BOTH knew about the work and what our quotes were. The work is done, looks great. My husband then said “ well he owes us so we need to collect since he agreed it looked good “ .. that’s when I knew immediately this motherfucker was never paying. We signed all the paperwork, he signed nothing when it was all said and done. We found out the fence company was literally his friend. We got taken by being desperate and being too nice and neighborly.

He sent ChatGPT replies about how he manages his money and wasn’t expecting this expense, even though we agreed and talked about it in depth, and HE called the company, not me. Just complete bullshit. We’ve basically moved on after learning that he owes literally about 5 other people thousands of dollars in our neighborhood.

I’ve told myself that it took me $900 to learn he is a complete piece of shit and just flip him off when he looks my way lmao

Broke is capitalist terminology that i dont give credence to.

I am merely free from the oppressive pursuit of capital.
