Eh, everyone starts off defensive, but his "you know what, you're right" was good deescalation and seemed resigned, but genuine enough.
This smug entitled prick not only decided he was the main character who could inconvenience everyone else, he couldn't even follow through with correcting his behavior by leaving promptly. Instead he's chosen to physically and verbally confront those he is blocking from travel with nonsense and further demands, offering no apology.
