Ever see something so appalling and stupid that your immediate reaction is laughter, as a defense mechanism for your sanity? That’s what just happened to me.
The Shitpost Office
Welcome to The Shitpost Office
Shitposts processed from 9 to 5, with occasional overtime on weekends.
Rule 1: Be Civil, Not Sinister
Treat others like fellow employees, not enemies in the breakroom.
- No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
- No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
- Respect people’s time and space. We’re here to laugh, not to loathe
Rule 2: No Prohibited Postage
Some packages are simply undeliverable. That means:
- No spam or scams
- No porn or sexually explicit content
- No illegal content
- NSFW content must be properly tagged
If you see anything that violates these rules, please report it so we can return it to sender. Otherwise? Have fun, be silly, and enjoy the chaos. The office runs best when everyone’s laughing.... or retching over the stench, at least.
It got me too. I don’t know how to react other than to laugh because it’s just that far out there.
absurdity is fun. not everyone knows how to appreciate it.
I do that. I think that's a fine immediate reaction.
The problem is when you do it in public and the people think you're on their side. Then you get looks from the other side as if you're condoning it. Meanwhile you're just like, "it's an internal tick I got! I don't approve of any of this!"
He didn't say more often. It's just the baggy clothes, they have room for more at a time.
it can be difficult in your delivery to clearly delineate that you're making fun of the racists, racism, and other targets of bigotry. generally if you know the people you're joking to well, it's easier to make that delineation.
i met a hipster comedian who loved racist jokes because existentialism and juxtaposition (we took him to the MoMA ONCE because we thought a little culture might help.
spoiler alert
it didn't. he liked the existential art and the statues with their boob out.
Black people wear more baggy clothes...? You kinda did the same as the guy in the image, just weirder.
Sorry for the lack of clarity, not more baggy clothes, just baggy clothes more often.
"More baggy" is more likely "baggier", seeking to highlight the racist assumption that black people where baggier clothes.
This is someone deliberately saying something racist to make people angry. Thankfully, Lemmy users are smart enough to see it for what it is.
Right, guys?
It's ragebait guys, remember rule n1: dont feed the troll
Dont be so sure, its reddit after all.
That's funny af XD
