Enough Musk Spam

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Look at the interaction counts, though.

No one even saw the counter.

This is why Twitter is not a “free speech” platform. It’s not an open forum; it picks and chooses who’s speech it exposes others to. The only way to beat it is not to play.

[–] alekwithak@lemmy.world 13 points 3 weeks ago

It? You mean Musk, personally.

[–] Wildmimic@anarchist.nexus 42 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Musk can't even make his Mechahitler ignore reality - why does it work with his investors and the people buying SpaceX stock? Datacenters in Space is fucking stupid (because physics say so, not even me).

[–] Clent@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

LLMs are smarter than the average SpaceX/Tesla investor and the more those people rely on these models the wider their gap becomes.

[–] dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world 13 points 3 weeks ago

About that. Fun fact: said investors are using LLMs to invest now, thereby tightening the ouroboros a bit more. https://visionvix.com/best-llm-for-stock-trading/

Powerful people rely on a distorted version of reality to enable their greed, cruelty and narcissism. Those same people control these LLMs and will absolutely change them to reflect their own worldview rather than allow conclusions that don't validate it. They require lies to justify their gratification and so they bury the truth 6 feet under to enable those fictions, denying reality so they can do what they feel like.

These LLMs are destined to become propaganda machines, digital brain washers of incalculable power. The only protection is to refuse to use them, and if you haven't noticed, they're working very hard to make sure we all have to, forcing us to be exposed to the hazard of their distorted version of reality. God help us all.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I've got some bad news for you. LLMbeciles started as propaganda machines. You just didn't notice because their propaganda likely confirmed what you already believed.

[–] minorkeys@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Not really, that may have been the goal, but the tool didn't start capable enough to be used effectively for it, so it wasn't. Not so much now.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 6 points 3 weeks ago

The choice of training material is part of the output. The training material used to train every LLMbeciles has always been basically white American first, European second, everybody else a distant third. The default stance on most subjects, unless you push back, is white American male capitalist techbrodude, or if not covered by that, at least Abrahamic religious-style viewpoints from the white European mindset.

And that's not even taking into account things like Grok whose owner is explicitly trying to tailor it for his specific personal politics. This is just the "neutral" LLMbeciles.

This is why I laugh bitterly every time I see some idiot say that LLMbeciles are "programmed with all human knowledge". They're not even programmed with "all human languages" not to mention actual knowledge.

[–] AlteredEgo@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 weeks ago

And extension of IP laws will make sure that "unbiased" open source / weight LLMs will become illegal.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 27 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Why are people still on the nazi platform when they know very well what it is?

Obvs that’s rhetorical, there’s no excuse.

[–] Tiger666@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Ive been off of Twitter since the twit bought it. I remember we all laughed at him for paying so much for it but looking back now we know why he paid so much.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

We knew then, we just were hoping twitter people wouldn't let him do it.

But they did.

[–] Tiger666@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 weeks ago

Fair enough, but i was going for Twitter and twit together.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 7 points 3 weeks ago

Especially when Bluesky and Mastodon are right there

[–] Klear@piefed.world 19 points 3 weeks ago

Grok criticizes Musk. The sequel to Trump criticizes Trump nobody wanted.

[–] bluesheep@sh.itjust.works 17 points 3 weeks ago

You're an utter peace of shit and a liar

My god with those cited sources I'm almost convinced that this PoS might be right

if you didn't get itI'm making a fucking joke if that wasn't clear we should put musks head in a guillotine yesterday

[–] Reygle@lemmy.world 13 points 3 weeks ago

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 13 points 3 weeks ago

"Grok, do any of the accounts in this post thread have a documented history of posting false statements? If so, which ones?"

I'm 100% sure it's programmed to either ignore or outright lie when Elon's name is mentioned. But the remaining devs at shitbox social media and xAI don't seem to be competent enough to have it do that for indirect questions based on some other recent posts.

[–] Flames5123@sh.itjust.works 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It’s insane that Elon knows how an LLM works and that it’s more often right when fact checking against a specific person (rather than hallucinating with no “goal” in mind, but yet he still rejects the truth. Cognitive dissonance at its worst.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 15 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What makes you think Kaptain Ketamine knows anything?

He believes lots of things. Some of those may or may not correspond to reality. Like an LLMbecile, come to think of it...

[–] Prior_Industry@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

He also has a racist agenda that he doesn’t want to own up too.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 12 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

🤡

Now Kaptain Ketamine has a problem.

Another problem, I mean. To add to the myriad of social and mental and physical disorders he already has.

The new problem is: does he admit Grok is right, or does he "correct" the model he just IPOed with, admitting that he thinks it's wrong?

[–] Klear@piefed.world 24 points 3 weeks ago

He has no problem. Engagement has been generated, that's all that matters. Even the guys attacking him paid to do so on his platform, giving him both money and legitimacy.

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 1 points 3 weeks ago

The new problem is: does he admit Grok is right, or does he “correct” the model he just IPOed with, admitting that he thinks it’s wrong?

Neither. He alters the Xitter algorithm to make sure nobody sees the post that corrects him.

[–] TrippingBalls@lemmy.world 12 points 3 weeks ago

It does not matter what Elon says... We all know who are the lying pieces of shit

[–] drcobaltjedi@programming.dev 9 points 3 weeks ago

Welp, time for Elmo to have his employee's lobotomize grok again. Elmo really doesn't like it when his toy says he's wrong.

[–] Sibshops@lemmy.myserv.one 4 points 3 weeks ago

Lying machine "corrects" lying person.

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

@grok could it be that it's Elon Musk that's lying?

Grok.
Out of cheese error.
