Since we're converting everything to cricket, assuming an average lifespan of 112 days (an estimate I found online, taking into account the wide variation between the wide variety of cricket species) this is ~489,174,107 cricket generations ago.
That's the length of a test match...
For those like me:
22 yards / 20 metres
So a chain.
Except that a yard is shorter than a metre. Which is a shame because if they were the same we could all get along and use our preferred system without arguing.
I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out what the wavelength of a cricket chirp had to do with a neck length. Is the neck specialized in detecting those chirps? How many crickets did that thing eat daily?
Then I spotted the community name. Fuck.
pretty sure its referring to the field they play the game Cricket on. like a "football pitch" is a soccer field.
If there is anything on earth that I do not do it is measure things by cricket pitches

This deviation from the widely accepted soccer field unit must be the spiteful reaction of the British to the separation from the EU.
