Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

Please don't give a platform to every dumb thing he says.

Time is better spent caring for yourself and others and people close to you. And organizing.

Well, one of Lenin's first acts was to establish a secret police force and arrest all the Socialist Revolutionaries, you know, the people who actually carried out the February revolution and won the 1917 constitutional assembly vote. Lenin's Bolsheviks did not win, but by then he had couped the government and betrayed the revolution, starting the Russian Civil War.

But saying he betrayed the revolution implied he had any part in it in the first place.

Then, when Lenin died, he had his third version of a sprawling secret police force that Stalin could use without any alteration beyond putting his own supporters in control.

All with "Vanguard Parties" that were just another name for totalitarian rule where dissent was arrested and secretly tortured and murdered, but not that secretly, because they also wanted to spread fear and terror.

Not to defend Lenin (he sucks for other reasons, including the secret police bit), but to be fair:

But saying he betrayed the revolution implied he had any part in it in the first place.

It was the Bolsheviks that overthrew the provisional government, and they had been agitating for more Soviet power before that. They were absolutely an important part of the revolution.

and won the 1917 constitutional assembly vote.

The split of the SRs, had it (edit: fully) taken place before voting rolls were announced, would've almost certainly given the Bolshevik-Left SR coalition a majority.

betrayed the revolution, starting the Russian Civil War.

The idea that anything resembling socialism was going to happen without civil war is a fantasy. The people who would become the Whites obviously weren't trying to restore democracy, and democracy wouldn't have stopped them. I mean hell the Whites' Volunteer Army predates the overthrow of the assembly. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that reactionaries don't actually care about democracy. The only way to avoid civil war would've been to let the reactionaries win before it started.

To reiterate, fuck Lenin for turning post-revolutionary Russia into a one-party police state, but some of these charges don't make sense.

Random thought, I wonder if a pathological lack of self worth could really make it so that nothing I say ever has a meaning deeper than the emptiness within m- ohhhh, I get it now.

If he could be more like Trotsky, that would be great

[–] A_Union_of_Kobolds@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

What, you want him to kill off anarchists?

[–] Sylvartas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 2 weeks ago

Well he's already doing that part. I think he can work on the other famous ones

Am I in the mirror universe again?

Oh. Yeah we haven't even re-unified Ireland and kicked the English out here.

If trunk wanted to take a hard turn into Longism, I think it could work for him, and would appeal to him.

It would still have literally every problem longism had, but that's not worse than this.

Now I wonder how much other communist leaders charged for rent.
