Video game streamer Zack Hoyt, better known online as Asmongold, has emerged in the right-leaning media landscape as an influential political commentator. Now he is urging a future Republican administration to go “Old Testament” on perceived political enemies and take a harsher approach to immigration, including by denaturalizing citizens and rounding up “parasite” immigrants and anti-ICE protestors.

Hoyt has an audience of millions who tune in to watch the streamer scroll through social media, play video games, and react to the latest news. Alongside gaming content, Hoyt pushes right-wing talking points on subjects ranging from “identity politics and progressive values” to immigration, amassing 2.4 billion views on his YouTube channels alone in 2025.

And while his streams often have a stream-of-consciousness feel, Hoyt has a clear agenda, as he explained while talking about migrants in the United Kingdom: “I want to make one thing extremely clear. My goal with talking about this stuff is to radicalize people as much as possible. I show this and I portray this stuff in the most extreme and negative way so I can make people angry and they'll be willing to follow the solutions that I want them to follow. Because I don't want people to get this confused. I have a very clear goal with the way that I express this stuff.”

He does nothing useful, possesses no valuable skills, is entirely dependent for his living on the labour of software developers and journalists, and all he does is play games and stoke his viewers' anger against immigrants who do actual work. Who's the parasite again?

Straight up hate we live in a world where people like him are making a living doing nothing.

Idk I kind of hate the whole fake work we have entire industries of. I know society is just some made up bullshit but this guy is such a filthy degenerate and he's sitting here living way too well as someone that could poof out of existence and have way more of a positive impact that way.

The worst part is that he's so painfully uneducated and poorly read that it's insane that he weighs in on literally anything political.

And even worse that people listen to him spew that shit. Fucking why?

It's like trying to learn math from a circus performer

He literally skipped highschool to play world of warcraft instead and has zero understanding of anything outside of that game, his claim to fame in the game is him being a complete asshole to others and filming it for YouTube. Not to mention his family grew up poor and was on government assistance his entire childhood and now hes the one that complains about the "freeloaders" on government assistance.

There's nothing more right-wing than pulling up the ladder behind you.

What about racist conspiracy theories?
...
No wait, I was thinking of fascist somehow.

Uhmm... What about telling others to pull themselves up by their bootstraps
after pulling up the ladder behind oneself?

bonus fact: he doesn't bathe or do anything physical. He looks sick AF, and lives in roach infestation.

It's almost comical that people could believe rhetoric about immigrants being "parasites" coming from Pestilence himself.

[–] you_are_dust@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

He's probably filled with parasites so he has a lot of first hand knowledge.

"Old Testament" approach to immigration huh?

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 19:34

Not that it would do much good for these Bible-thumping assholes when they can pick and choose shit that fits their narrative.

Every time I see a new picture of Asmongold, he looks more and more like the fucking crypt keeper's diseased and unwashed cousin.

[–] cheat700000007@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

....is he not?

Hey, me too, just in favor of communism rather than fascism.

I don't quite understand why this disgusting pig's handle isn't Renfield, because he's so good at defending his vampire lords and has the exact same disdain for hygiene

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 13 points 2 weeks ago

The Old Testament didn’t even work out for God, an all knowing all powerful being.

Fuck off.

The editors must have really struggled to find such a flattering picture

[–] PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

What is happening to him on that photo

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

When did this happen? I've seen a handful of his videos in the past, none more recently than a year-ish ago, but all I remember was him talking about video games and how gross he is. It was all too terminally online for me so I lost interest. I don't recall anything more than a passing mention of current events outside of gaming.

He's now the largest political streamer on twitch and his politics are full nazi
