Councillor Trish Purdy
Married for 23 years to my husband Ken, we have been blessed with a large, diverse, and wonderful family. I have spent the last 26 years in the health and wellness industry in various roles. Four years ago I started my Master of Divinity at Acadia with the intention of transitioning into community ministry. I believe my education has helped equip me for community leadership and service. This new position as Councillor for my District is an exciting opportunity to use the passion and concern that I have for people, and collaborate with businesses, organizations, and government to help make our amazing community even better.
Councillor Purdy is a member of the following Boards and Committees:
- Community Planning & Economic Development Standing Committee
- Transportation Standing Committee
- Appeals Standing Committee
- Accessibility Advisory Committee
- Harbour East Marine Drive Community Council - Vice Chair
- Cole Harbour Place
- Halifax Water

Purdy's website says she expected to graduate with her Master of Divinity last year. I don't know if she actually graduated, but studying for that seems like the kind of thing to ought to make someone stop telling people to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
