Hello weekend. I've missed you.

Cheers!

Going through more of great aunt's stuff..

Now beyond the ankle / hand cuffs she defs had a naughty side but was straight as could be:

Parties at her joint were legendary I bet. Try my handcuffs. Try my snuff.

Invited to relos' house this evening after dinner for a drink.

Love them to death (only relos from wife's side we still talk to), but cannot be arsed.

Just want to have a nap (soon), eat dinner, have some drinks at home and watch the new He Man movie.

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Just getting up from my nap now.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago

Nice...I'm about to have my 2nd one

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 5 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I watched the He-Man movie. Was hoping for some nostalgia, but movie is painfully bad. Feels like AI wrote the jokes in consultation with a 15yo. 1/5 loincloths.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago

I didn't make ten minutes in.

Thought it was going to be a fun, over the top, sci fi romp.

Like guardians of the galaxy or Thor

It's so flat. Such disappointment, much disenchantment.

The fruit salad (with yoghurt) was very yummy. I think I will be over-indulging in fruit a bit for the next few days!

This alert thing that's gonna happen, can we give it a nickname? The Big Buzz?

I wanna go somewhere public and hear all the phones go off.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I'm waiting to see how many people panic and call 000.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago

That's funny and sad. We need feedback on this.

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I waiting to see how many people wrap their phones in tin foil so the government can’t activate the vax chips.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago

I really don't understand how the cookers can think that if the government was planning evil shenanigans through everyones phone that they would be announcing it well in advance. I guess I shouldn't expect crazy to have any logic though.

[–] useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

What’s the alert thing?

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Seriously?

On Monday 27th of July around 2pm everyone will receive a test alert from the government. Turn off burner phones if you don't want to be caught out.

[–] mertn22@aussie.zone 2 points 6 days ago

My phone is neither android or iphone. I am interested to see if the alert goes off on it at all.

Piedmonte's this evening had some cocktail franks (aka little boys) on special. Haven't seen them in ages. Quite nice in baked beans, but I am having some difficulty figuring out what kind of cocktail you'd put them in. Any suggestions?

[–] Pilk@aussie.zone 2 points 6 days ago (3 children)

I believe the name comes from the obligation to sip a sophisticated cocktail while you eat them.

[–] SituationCake@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

You serve them on a platter with toothpicks, next to cheese cubes.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago

and with a little bowl of tomato sauce for dipping

Um, if dat is troo, then why are they included in military meals-ready-to-eat combat rations? This carries the war between the sexes to new levels I reckon.

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

A sophisticated cocktail is exactly what I need; I am deficient in vitamin D

Karnivool are playing tonight with Tesseract and Car Bomb. Would have been great but no way with the girlfriend's arm in a cast

No-work Friday outting of the day complete. Double quarter pounder meal for breakfast/lunch, prescription obtained, groceries purchased. Almost home. Looking forward to not opening my apartment door again today. I shall be consuming edibles and gaming the rest of the day if you need me.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 1 week ago

Enjoy your night!

I'll be drinking, karaokeing and other fun activities. If anyone needs me, please knock first.

I've got a pot of leek & potato soup bubbling on the stove. The fruit & veg are sorted, put away and the boxes have been cut down for the recycling bin. I've even managed to do some washing and walk Mr Woof.

There is a mystery melon and a pineapple in the box, so I plan to make some fruit salad this afternoon. Dinner is fajitas, which will use up the slightly squashed capsicum that won't last long.

I'm feeling rather efficient this week.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

was just thinking how bloody nice it is to not see carrotman posts here

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

They're becoming pretty rare these days. I think everyone in Melb has seen the bloke by now 😁

[–] Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago

He's still around. Gets on/off the 11 tram at the Houses of Parliament most days. He recently got a new or possibly repaired carrot.

[–] Catfish@aussie.zone 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There is a madman with an axe in my backyard. He's singing the song but is not wearing high heels or suspenders. OHS obligations are so inconvenient.

Ribs and busty substances have finally healed after 8 weeks, I was pretty beat up after a week of serious allergic reactions that nearly sent me to hospital.

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Lazy morning doing the occasional chore, but also a hair wash and face mask, all with loads of sitting and staring into space in between.

My fruit & veg box is here already, normally it hasn't been delivered until around midday. Mr Woof and I were both fast asleep and heard nothing.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Oh dear, it's tomorrow already.

I have now slept, and am finally willing to concede that it is in fact today. I firmly believe however that the time after midnight is still yesterday until you have had a chance to go to bed.

Crazy how fast the end of the week comes when you're not working

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 2 points 1 week ago
