Car brains are fine with state licenses, state subsidies, destroying the planet, etc... But monitoring their driving is a step too far.

Cars are the root problem here. No car, no license, no problem.

OP has repeatedly posted stuff like this to argue that dystopian mass surveillance is fine actually because it pisses off drivers (and apparently somehow not everyone else with a fucking brain?). That is a deranged take, and this is the third post of theirs I've seen in the last couple days simping for the technofascist megacorps, and getting rightly dunked on by the comments. It's extra wild to see a db0 account take this stance. This does not belong in this community.

I love the irony that they do this but hide all of their info and want privacy, calling the police on anyone that comes close and claiming they're armed lunatics. Classic police collusion, trust the CEO over normal people. Always protect capital. Same methodology as the Bricks and Minifigs drama.

Dude the flock thing does not ONLY read car plates. They are surveillance that makes Chinese surveillance look like child's play

Yep, scanning Bluetooth and WiFi of passing devices means that they can track your movements on foot, bike, scooter, or public transport, just as reliably as in a car.

Calling it a license plate reader is a lie to get them installed by municipal governments. They are high resolution AI survellience cameras that track people using any information they can gather. They also record network signals to associate you with any devices you frequently carry.

There are installations of these cameras on footpaths, and other places without car traffic. Flock cameras are not a car related issue.

Looking forward to the cipher punk dogfights of people's drones attacking these things

[–] CultLeader4Hire@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You can just throw a rock at drones and they crash, no fight needed, just throw the smallest cheapest thing you can at it and it’s done

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 1 points 1 day ago

And those rocks land on someone's head

New archery practice target just dropped 🔥

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 2 points 1 day ago

What happens to the arrows that miss?

Better to use a drone to just douse this thing in black spray paint at close range

This is not appropriate for this community.

Yeah these things need to be targeted for sport.

Flock, can you just go the way of Enron already?
