My giant breed dog is afraid of everything. Everything. She still barks at us when we come home and hides behind the couch. If we're home and she hears something she hides behind us. It's hilarious to see a 100lb dog behave this way.

My wife loves having her dog for protection when I'm not home. The dog that is afraid of beeps and squeaks, clacks and cracks, bumps and thumps, and most importantly, toots.
At least they're in it together, though!
As far as I can tell my Huskie randomly decides to be scared of anything in existence for 0.5 seconds at a time and then is fine with whatever it is. She was scared of the basement for the first nine months or so that we had her.
I'm very sad that my Husky/Heeler has lost his hearing, but at the same time he is not afraid of thunder in the same way anymore..... So there's a silver lining. I have a picture of him hiding in the dryer during a storm, and many in the bathtub.

Grapes can quickly cause kidney failure in dogs. Smart dog.

Per the Merck Veterinary Manual: " In general, more than one grape or raisin per 4.5 kg (10 pounds) of body weight may contain enough tartaric acid to pose a risk for kidney injury in dogs."

For years I have been trying to steal your most prized posessions, only to be foiled by that beast over and over again

They should be afraid of grapes; those are quite lethal to dogs.
But just the other day I went to take mine out for their walk and were super excited to do so until they took a step outside and some invisible thing scared the bejesus out of them. They both ran back inside nearly knocking me over and then cowered in the kitchen for a while. The next few times I took them out, the chipoo was fine but my husky would hug the left and run to her potty spot in the grass like there was something out there. She is pretty shy and wary of strangers, but that was the first time I ever saw her terrified of anything. There was nothing out of the ordinary going on that I could perceive.
Men taller than me. He equates height with threat. He has no problem with short dudes and women or kids.
Not sure why but he is a rescue from a puppy mill, so he has more than a few weird habits due to his trauma.
Huh, that might explain why some dogs seem to hate me in particular...
Mine was a puppy mill breeder for 6 years and she's afraid of everything but slowly getting more relaxed. After two years, my son can pick her up without getting peed on (most of the time).
Her biggest trigger is hearing seat belts unclick. Her screeching is why I can't leave her alone so she comes everywhere with me. My car has dog mode so she's at 70F. But she hears that click and she's screeching at over 100 db. Pretty loud for a 14 lb dog.

Mine loves car rides but gets motion sick in the car for similar reasons.
My dog has PTSD, or as I call it poop and toots stress disorder. Will get up and walk out of the room looking dejected when anyone farts. If someone is on the toilet, she is scared for her life

East and southeast Asians. He has cataracts and is nearly completely deaf, literally walking off with anyone with features even vaguely resembling mine, and frequently walking into things at home. Everyone looks and sounds the same, but this racist little bag of shit can still tell someone’s ethnicity by smell alone.
No problems with native Americans, Indians, Russians, Mexicans, etc.. He just hates east and southeast Asians. Mind you, he has no reason to have developed an aversion, anyway. He’d only known 3 when I noticed it, and all of them are kind people. I call him Cotton Hill when we have guests
Some Asians don't have the gene that makes sweat smell. This probably makes them smell strange to a dog's nose. My dog is just very cautious with smokers; he treats them with extreme prejudice.

Semi-reflective floors in big pet supply stores, I can only guess he sees the reflections of the ceiling lighting in the floor and mistakes it for being very high up on, like, a glass floor or something?
I'm gonna go with balloons. not because they pop, but because she was a puppy and got he nose zapped by from static electricity.
The balloon thing is probably common, at least every dog I’ve lived with has been scared of them. I think it has to do with the way they move around, unnaturally floating, bobbing with the breeze. It’s unlike any creature found in nature. It’s almost ghostly.
Without an understanding that it’s just some latex filled with air, I get why they’d set off an animals “spooky” alarm.
And they pop!
Though she was cool with it until image went for a sniff and got zapped. I wouldn’t say it was all that strong (loud enough to be heard but it was still a balloon, right?)
After that there was no trusting it.
My dog is scared of the wind. Specifically the draft, so when it’s windy outside he pushes up against me.
He’s also scared of things in the home that can be moved. Like if he loses a toy behind a box and he tries to fetch it, and the box shifts a little, he jumps back and looks at me all pathetically, like the box just scolded him.
Could be anything really, a chair, an aerial root from my monstera, a shoe horn. If it moves when he interacts with it, and it isn’t a door, it’s spooky!
Not sure about scared, but strongly dislikes stepping on metal. Will walk around or jump over manhole covers when on a walk for example.

A little rock shaped hide-a-key. We had it in the house and she went crazy barking at it. Wouldn’t get near it. Not sure if she thought it shouldn’t be in the house because it’s a rock or that it was a funny smelling rock.

eh, we had goldie-mix that loved grapes. had to be careful with them.
Anything with goldie doesn’t count, especially if it’s all goldie :). Ours ate anything we would eat plus grass, horse manure, compost, ring-pulls, socks, money, rat poison, and a football (whole). Those last two were a trip to the vet.
Goldie hearts are so pure, it bleeds out into their coats…. But no one ever accused them of being overly clever.
Snickers didn’t look much like a Goldie, but her mom was one. (And she was one of the best dogs ever!)
Also it’s important to note most kids will eat all of that and more, given an opportunity, Goldie’s were bred to be eternal puppies (retrievers in general. Wouldn’t want the retriever to eat the duck or whatever.) so it’s really not their fault!
Perhaps they are grapes of wrath!
