Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

I've been going to the gym a lot lately, trying to lose weight and be more active, feel better about myself. I've lost almost 10 lbs which is huge with my binge-eating disorder, which I control by counting calories (this doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me).

That and I'm in the process of getting my professional designation, all the hard stuff is done and now it's just forms!

congrats on the weight loss! its so dam hard. its been one of the major challenges of my adult life. calorie counting is one of the things that finally helped me too, and also finally being medicated for my ADHD. the stimulants reduced my appetite a lot so i wasnt overeating as much and i actually had the motivation to count my calories and stay around my target for the day. ive been off my meds for the past few months and its been so nice to see that i was able to keep the weight off and even drop a couple more pounds.

keep it up, it does get easier as you go as long as you arent in too big a deficit! if you run into a wall at some point, or start thinking about food all the time, try upping your calories for a week or two to give your body a chance to get out of starvation mode. its called a refeed if you want to read more about it.

Hell yeah! Losing 10 pounds is HARD even without BED. I'm struggling with motivation to lose weight lately–working out and feeling healthier, but not managing my own binge behavior which is impossible to out-exercise. I'm really impressed and proud of you!

Thanks so much! Always struggling with the want to be more active and lose weight while also reconciling that with internalized fatphobia and recognizing that I'm not losing weight for society, and that my health does not determine my value.

Being my natural positive self and spreading my love and care and doing the things I want to do without being bothered by things that I can not change

It was a very long and tough road to get to this point 😅 only took 49 years

I do a lot more small talk and generally be nicer to strangers overall. My sense of humor is pretty developed from reading a lot and in combination with my quick witt, finding something that lightens the mood is usually easy.

Works wonders for my self esteem too!

I love funny people! Funny colleagues make even a shit job bearable

It's lovely to connect with strangers, isn't it? :)

As an introvert I love connecting with strangers! Give someone a compliment or just smile and say good morning, and then... there's no expectations! When I'm feeling socially exhausted it can be hard to force myself to still have a human interaction or two, so saying a few sentences to a stranger is a low-stakes way to make sure I don't ask of the sudden find myself not having uttered a word in days.
