The organization has stood up to dictators and death squads, but Rowling and the UK's anti-speech laws were apparently too much.

seeing the term "LGB" used unironically is disgusting. I can't even find the words to describe how horrible of a person Rowling is

Let them know (politely) how cowardly they are, why you won't support them, and why you'll tell everyone you know not to support them: https://www.amnesty.org/en/about-us/contact/

Yes yes, push us, righters, push us more... at some point, some not very smart (hi to Homer J. Simpson) will be pushed into desperation and do some very brave and very bad thing that we may really need. Bet none want to, but some may have to.

This shit is fucking ridiculous. everyone on the side of hate has learned how to use and exploit social media. Rowling isnt the only one, nor is she first. All the TERFs, the reich wingers in US and Canada, and everywhere else have all seemingly had outstanding social media training.

Meanwhile, everyone on the side of "hey maybe dont exclude/abuse/kill marginalized groups" are all stuck in the early 2000's era of internet use. No online literacy whatsoever. Even AOC cant get her shit together online, and shes in my generation. The closest was that twitch stream, but its reaching the wrong type of people.

Amnesty international has basically no online presence, in terms of big tech social media. And thats where the majority of people are. Jk rowling has an exponentially larger footprint in the public consciousness than they do. And rowling knows how to leverage that.

If leaders and career politicians on the side of reason cant get their shit together, were collectively doomed

Completely vile. The world has too many cowards.

They're not anti-rights, they just don't think we should we should have the right to exist in public society and should be imprisoned if a single child ever becomes aware of us. I'm not sure what the difference is, but I'm sure someone who "supports trans rights buuuuut... " (Amnesty International UK perhaps?) will explain it to me soon enough.
