Following on from my first post of an American Robin nest just outside my kitchen window, here are some more shots of the same birds a few days later. This was just before they left the nest.

Wonderful photos! I have come to better appreciate robins recently. We have a "teenage" robin (I don't know the correct term) that spends time in our yard with their parents. It's been wonderful to watch them interact.
This is the young one waiting for his parents in the shade on my deck. They are also the most enthusiastic user of the bird bath.
I always laugh when they pop up on Merlin. Turdus is their genus and "those turds!" Is what I think when they wake me at 4:30 if we keep the windows open overnight lol.
Thanks! We'd really only seen adults up until now, while walking around the neighborhood. This was the first time we'd seen fledglings. Just luck that they decided to make their nest right outside our window!
I love the way they run -- head down, little legs pumping -- unlike the sparrows etc. that go hop-hop-hop.

I think adolescent would be the right word. They're interchangeable for humans but I'm guessing that Robin isn't at least 13 years old xD
I haven't seen one since I left NY in 2005.
Seeing adult robins was the first sign of spring for us.
