Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Phone manufacturers want consumers to upgrade more frequently. Now they are proposing leasing phones because people are not spending their bread money on gizmos.

Iirc this upgrade program has been around in some iteration for several years. It’s not even something Apple is pushy about. If anything it’s specifically catered to the people who are going to trade in for new devices at launch anyway. My BIL is often like this and has been on this upgrade plan for years for his phone. If a new model comes out he wants, he puts in for the upgrade, otherwise he keeps the one he already has.

I have never owned a brand new phone. Just buyem used for a fraction of the price. Chums leasing their phone for a year and replacing them. For what exactly? Manufacturers havent offered any innovation in a decade. If anything they have been stripping features. I suppose you have the foldables... but fragile bending screens are just a planned obsolescence wet dream.

Why save the money on your own when you can pay more than what the phone is actually worth with monthly payments! Sure carriers have been doing this for years but with that you actually get the phone when the contract is up. Capitalism make the poor worse and make the rich richer, especially when they cannot innovate enough to make the peons want to upgrade.
