Shitty Movie Details

Share your favorite movie (and other motion picture media) details, potentially with a shitty twist.

To be clear, this is a place for satirical and meta^2^ references. Not really the actual movie details, unless they're truly stupid or have strong meme potential/background. "Oh hai Mark" kind of stuff. Tho sometimes even these can span a good debate.

For maximum funni, include full name of the movie, its release date and all the detail right in the title of the post.

Try to avoid actual shit and other nasty stuff. Mark nsfw when appropriate.

"They're not dead. They're just sleeping."

"What about the fire?!"

"They're ninjas."

" ...So?!"

"Ninjas are inflammable, not flammable."

"INFLAMMABLE AND FLAMMABLE MEAN THE SAME THING!"

"...Oh... Oops."

[–] TheLegendaryAssholeOfJushinLiger@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It really should be enflammable.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 19 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Unflammable isn't even a word, but uninflammable is. English pisses me off. 😡

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago

uninflammable

That could mean ANYTHING!

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

I want to see Pete's Batman on Ask A Ninja

[–] Avicenna@programming.dev 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Quick we must inflame them!

[–] Lumidaub@feddit.org 21 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Been a while but I'm pretty sure this counts as murder vs self-defense.

[–] warm@kbin.earth 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah, but it's not a movie detail, it's a shitty one.

[–] Lumidaub@feddit.org 4 points 2 weeks ago

Meh. Seems too tame and too much like something someone might say seriously. Might work if it was expanded a bit like "this is foreshadowing the character's later hypocrisy of indulging in his leather fetish and beating up mentally ill people instead of using his vast wealth to bring down corrupt politicians."

Batman's pretty loose with the interpretation of his one rule. Like when he crashes the monorail Ra's al Ghul is on and doesn't save him... But it's okay because he technically didn't directly kill him!

[–] 0ops@piefed.zip 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

You know, I have the same problem with Terminator 2. So he can't destroy himself, but he can give someone else instructions on how to destroy him and then just stand there and let it happen? That's just destroying yourself with extra steps, barely. He could have just as easily stood in front of a train or something.

He could have just as easily stood in front of a train or something.

100% would not have killed a T-800

[–] 0ops@piefed.zip 2 points 2 weeks ago

Ok, how about a really big train? With saws and lasers?

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Bruce: technically, the fire killed them. I just made it easier for the fire to finish the job, so they wouldnt suffer from their injuries. Im the good guy.

He's had Alfred and Lucius whip up a machine that creates a literal trolley with an alternate track with a dozen Gothamites tied to it every time he has a moral dilemma about killing someone.

In the case of Ras al Ghul he doesn't even have to pull the lever, the people are saved by the very same inaction that crashed the monorail he was on inshallah

[–] nyakojiru@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

that's how batman works ...

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

That's how every superhero movie works, almost.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

They should do a movie about that

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

Just like it's jus how every religion works. You have the one guy who's trike is not too kill others, yet somehow they find a loophole where lots of people get killed.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

commit a larger crime, after pretending he wont commit one.

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Decapitating a beaten, naked, bound helpless man is not the same as setting aflame a building full of highly fit, well-equipped skilled ninja-assassins.

[–] WhiteRice@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

For starters, it’s much easier.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Holy shit that movie came out 21 years ago? Fuuuuuuck I'm old

[–] jpreston2005@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

I was making a joke the other day about Bane, and realized I should probably clarify who the hell I'm talking about.

Feelsbadman.jpg

It's crazy that in my mind Christian Bale is the "new batman" and the batman of my youth is Michael Keaton.

[–] jjj@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 weeks ago

*Which kills the prisoner anyway, IIRC

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 2 weeks ago

in one of animated series/movies, superman did murder joker.

[–] 7uWqKj@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Because the murderer was American and the ninjas were merely Asians. NPCs so to say.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The Nolan Trilogy are shit Batman movies. DC used to stand for Detective Comics, and Batman was a sort of detective-type superhero, hence why he doesn't have superpowers.

[–] warm@kbin.earth 1 points 2 weeks ago

I think while they have some problems, they are still the best Detective Comics Comics films ever made.
