Well, the first third or so is subnautica in space.
I love Subnautica and that's why I've tried this one but couldn't get into it. Just not enjoyable. Maybe later on, but I had lost my patience while getting through the first stage.

In my experience when I had a Steam Deck, many games that don't have the supported status on it do work without issues, they just haven't been officially tested.
For this game it says "unsupported" which means they tested it and it doesn't meet their criteria. Although the steam deck verified programme is largely rubbish anyway, I tend to just see if there's a YouTube video of someone running it, and use that to make my mind up.
I've played it with Proton without any problems.
Should work fine on Steamdeck. It works fine under Proton on Arch (which is essentially what a Steamdeck is).
