Well, no, my pre-wash does that!

So then, you physically move the dirt away from the clothes after it's been removed?

[–] chunkystyles@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 week ago

Well, the water does that.

Regarding to ancient internet memes, tide is only used as food for teenagers.

My spouse has discovered enzymes that need hot water to activate and eat away at laundry stains. So we recently had our laundry sitting in a sous vide bath and everything came out super clean!

And in theory, laundry detergents like Tide should have those enzymes . . . yet they are telling us all to wash in cold water to save electricity/resources. 🤦

There’s enzymatic detergent too.

They are claiming that it works at lower temps - making energy savings possible. They are not telling you to save energy.

I do, though.

I put the soap in, I turn on the machine. When the machine stops I take out the clothes. I don't inspect them, they are by definition now "clean". That's good enough for me.

I know my detergent isn't what causes my shirts to come out of the washing machines dirtier than they went in, since I use the same shit I used before I moved when I had my own washer and dryer. It's the filthy af machines at my apartment. I don't think they clean them ever.

Pisses me off because all my lighter colored shirts look like they were ran through mud. My pink shirt is fucking gray. 😡

Communal machines? You could try running a cleaning tablet yourself and focus on using the one machine every time.
