Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

Love the idea of that lending library, and the intergenerational units.

It's crazy fucked up that generational and family orientated communal living isn't the standard everywhere.

I hate that reality has taught me to expect this project won't last as female owned or family centred for long, money always wins.

And add to that the fact that all female governments and boards of directors are (worldwide) still so, so exceedingly rare, is just, I lack words.

I try not to think about what the world we built for our species to live in could have been like without thousands of years of power hungry patriarchy running it, but fuck, we could have had it so much better.

This was cool to see exists though, despite how morose I'm being here. Thank you for sharing it OP!

The fact the designer had to mention it was a thrill sitting on a female only boardroom. Weird but poignant.

I always find it interesting how people
Design, I once lived In a house that was easily 60yrs old but I know a woman had a hand in designing. It was things like due to the location of the storage in relation to how you use them. It had a cupboard set up for a vacuum and it had plug sockets. There were other small things. For something to be so old but so considered was an underrated perk. There were just too many things that a female who usually and traditionally did those things would install.

I live in an old house with a similar setup. I marvel at how the homeowner really thought of where she needed things to be located, how each addition to the house was clearly for the homeowner's use and ease. The built in cabinets, the cupboard specifically for baking sheets and cutting boards, the ironing board neatly tucked away in it's own hidey spot. It's lovely.

I'd love to live with a friendly community in a building like this. Though my trust issues and social anxiety would complicate things 🙃

Oh, this is a cool idea. One of the things I value about living in the suburbs is that I can tell my kids to go outside and play with their friends (I hate scheded play dates). This complex totally makes that possible in an urban environment - and I love that. Also, 3+ beds are a must for families.

Ugh same here. I tried really hard, but it's so awkward to make small talk with other parents.

I know, right! It removes all the fun of spontaneous play for our kiddos, and is incredibly hard on the parents. I have a friend who is overwhelmed by the urban parenting, which includes constant play dates, school activities, and entertaining her kids in a tiny enclosed space. Women should probably be in charge of ur an housing going forward...

I can't blame them, it is all consuming! I took a stance pretty early on that I simply didn't have the capacity to sign up for every single playdate, activity, etc. There's still a lot to juggle, but putting those boundaries down really helped.

It would be so nice to live in a place like this where we could share the burden! Rotating who takes the kids to swim lessons, whose hosting the birthday parties, send the kids out to play together. I love that!
