i don't get the engineering superiority complex, but i suppose if a lot of them are contemplating suicide, it does mean sense why they'd have one. when you are massively self-loathing you tend to compensate by feeling superior to others.
Oof, as someone who has legitimately struggled with that deeply dark place and thankfully survived multiple attempts, I have a hard time understanding why that subject matter is joke worthy. That's almost certainly a personal problem though.
I'm sorry someone made light of your very serious life experience. I know that isn't fun.
