Any gotchas or tips? I have a plan to eventually build one at the end of my patio, but haven’t decided where to start.
Well, I originally wanted to buy 6m rhombus slats, so I wouldn't have a gap between them on the longer side. Sadly the company I wanted to buy them from no longer had any and no one else sold this length so I had to use 4m instead.
I underestimated how much these slats like to twist and should have used 4 posts on the longer side to keep them straight.
What are the large posts and pieces strutting out for? I kinda assumed they were for decoration but do they have a purpose?
Edit: Looks like such a nice place to sit by the way
The pergola part is mostly decorative, since it looks better then just leaving them end above the screen. Although it also helps stiffening the whole build.
I have bought a few Climatis flowers and will plant them so they grow on her it and have them bloom all over along with a chain light for atmospheric lighting
We'll need some updates when they bloom
Next year then :D

Let's see which colours we'll be looking at

I think that this would look even better with plants growing on it :)
