General community for news/discussion in the UK.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

I like how he said somewhere else that he maybe couldn't win "numerically" but that there are other ways to win. To me, Binface is the real winner here

In his downtime I think he should consider touring with Angine de Poitrine. They're black and white/white and black, he's grey, they're all aliens; it would be a mash up made in heaven.

Binface’s opponent is trash.

[–] maam@feddit.uk 7 points 1 day ago

Yup, gotta clean the bin after dumping the frog wanker.

Only 43% voter turnout. This is why cunts like Farage stay in power.

The silent majority must side with us, in every region, because the alternative is admitting that some places are just filled with chuds.

I think there are more terrible people in this world than most of us would like to admit

Nigel Farage has 512k Youtube subs vs Count Binface's 195k (38%) 2/8/2026 from to 219k (42%) 13/8/2026

Keep supporting our intergalactic space champion!

Ich bin ein binliner!

What's he going to do if he actually gets voted into office? He can't keep committing to the bit in that situation can he?

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

He's actually got good views, I honestly think he'd make a decent politician.

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Kind of seems like. Just heard it didn't pan out but apparently the guy he was protesting is being investigated as a result of getting his seat back?

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 2 points 8 hours ago

Yes, we wanted his corrupt ass to win so the investigation into his corruption can proceed.

[–] xxploit@lemmy.ca 33 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Literally anything is better than what that wankstain has done. But IIRC he has said a little while back he would actually go listen to people in Clackton and then represent their needs in parliament.

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Okay. I think I must have sounded like I doubted his sincerity or commitment. I don't, I just didn't think he was actually planning at all for the possibility of winning. Given from what I've heard of the situation that actually sounds pretty nice

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 4 points 1 day ago

His commitment is to the satire, not to the idea of having to be an MP.

[–] RobotToaster@mander.xyz 9 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Unfortunately you can't wear hats or armour in parliament

[–] FarceOfWill@infosec.pub 19 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

He can take the lid off and say its a very big collar

[–] sad_detective_man@sopuli.xyz 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Uhh I call bullshit. What kind of UK institution bars noblemen from donning their battle regalia in office?

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

His videos refer to a book by the British politician who originally got elected as a joke, but went on to seriously be one of the most effective MPs. See Columbia, the white elephant costume comes off.

[–] nialv7@lemmy.world 44 points 2 days ago (1 children)

binface massively outperformed the polls, and farage didn't even show up to hear the results to avoid the humiliation

[–] trebach@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Farage claimed there was a security threat against him so he couldn't attend. The news asked the head of police at the count and he said this was the first he was hearing of it and everything was perfectly safe there.

[–] nialv7@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

he followed that with he didn't want to be "demeaned and humiliated by nobodies", which is just funny.

also like is binface the establishment or is he a nobody? make up your mind nigel

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 3 points 8 hours ago

The enemy is both weak and strong

[–] khannie@lemmy.world 19 points 2 days ago

It's bin an incredible race. The space warrior from Sigma 9 has stolen our hearts.

[–] pottery@feddit.uk 5 points 1 day ago

His voice act was breaking there. A little tired perhaps?
