How did they even stay in business this long? I hope they were losing money every month.

Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!
Rules:
- Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.
Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:

- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
That's all the rules!

They clearly must've gone woke to get this broke
In another few years it's going to be just like Iraq and Afghanistan. All those people who endlessly supported the war will suddenly go quiet and blend in, pretending they never supported such disastrous interventions -- and of course, never admit they were wrong.
Suddenly you won't be able to ever find someone who admits to having been a Trump supporter.
Honestly, the dumbasses that would buy this stuff and plaster it on their bodies, their houses, their vehicles....thought they were "owning the libs" with it.
I mostly just shake my head and pity them. Every time I see some gigantic truck acting as a penile compensation device, plastered with gun-nut decals and Trump regalia, I think of it as just another example of The Tribe That Rubs Shit In Their Hair...in-group signaling to other hopeless tribe members.

Penile compensation device is a childish insult.
It's a gender affirming vehicle.
All you LIBTARDS have TDS! I don't see you COMPLAINING when the BIDEN MEGASTORE went Out Of Business!
-SMERT Republicans!
Its easier to peacock to own the libs when you're not in power. Now that they are, its harder to be reactionary.
I just noticed something about myself: every time I see that orange turd I wonder if his diaper was full or empty when the pic was taken.
There's a guy in my area selling Temu-quality Trump merch on the side of the highway, out of what I'm pretty sure used to be one of those water pistol games you see at carnivals and state fairs, with all that hardware ripped out.
I've passed by it on the way to and from work for years now, and never once have I seen a customer.
Nothing of value was lost
Even if Trump was still massively popular: He has been at this since his first campaign in 2015? So every fan has had a decade to buy Trump merchandise, MAGA hats, stupid flags, stickers for their car and so on. It's like running a swastika shop in Nazi Germany in 1938. Everybody already has bought your stuff.
What I've seen are people driving around in large Trump-themed buses, parking in different towns from one day to the next, propping up tents and selling Trump merch. MAGA truly is a cult.
Play stupid games...
I popped in to one of these Trump stores for a look prior to the election while I was visiting doing a road trip through some states
The shit was expensive and cheaply made, the owner was reacting to recorded news interviews playing on screens as if they were live
Very obviously a grift
Is it weird I read the headline and was a little bit disappointed that someone milking these idiots for all they are worth was going out of business?

In the Trump world, that's just your standard kayfabe
Very obviously a grift
Also yes, of course.
In the Trump world, that’s just your standard kayfabe
Enragement capitalism.
I think some ex-Faux guy wrote a book some number of years ago and gave the game away about how Faux was consciously designed to be very similar to WWE, formerly known as WWF. I wish I could find that snippet...
Its hard to educate the average person on how central the concept of kayfabe is to the current situation we exist in, it goes beyond Trump but I don’t know if anyone besides Vince himself ever used it so effectively.
Thanks, I have a new version of hell to fear now.
@quarkquasar @dudeface We've been in it for years. And my nightmares are worse about a lot of things (thanks, vought and miller and the .01% of the rich)
@dudeface @spaghettiwestern So stupids are unaffected by it sort of as expected. They've been inundated without psychological medical care for years?
