Cory Doctorow makes a similar point in that if the execs didn't show up for work not a whole lot would change. If the workers didn't show up nothing would get done. The C-Suite chuds deep down know this and hate it and LLMs are sold to these people under the false premise that they can be execs who matter because they can fire these pesky workers and replace them with AI which runs under the direction of the execs, making them relevant and saving money.

Of course, it's a crock of shit but the AI companies are happy to sell this dream.

This did what everything else before it did; made tech more accessible. You are going to see the most shit you have ever seen in your life. Can you make something good with it? Yes, with a lot of work. Can you make shit with it? More effortlessly than ever. So you're going to see an avalanche of shit, because thats what removing barriers to access does.

I'm more interested for the unsustainable spy network to fall so that these things are trapped in our GPUs. When everyone can craft some dumb ass local only app on demand it will actually be kind of cool. But right now with the tendrils of capitalists choking it the tech will not be put to good use. All the worst people in existence control it right now.
