Has xlibre been a drop-in replacement for you?

Completely, literally just install the ‘xlibre-xserver’ package and the appropriate ‘xlibre-‘ drivers you need and it’s exactly like X.Org X11. ‘xorg-xinit’ is still required for ‘startx’, and some other ‘xorg’ packages to be able to use ‘xsetroot’ for my status command, but the server itself was completely drop-in.
