Cant see him being in any trouble at all in that kind of election. With the old second choice it might be a bit trickier.

Provisions for restoring the Supplementary Vote for mayoral and PCC elections are part of the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026, but parts of it are yet to come onto force. It was changed for the Greater Manchester mayoral by-election, so I see no reason why the system won't change before the next GLM election
Great news. I know theres no point before the next election, but i would feel better if it were undone asap.
He has a good record and broad popular appeal. And there aren’t any good alternatives: the Tories will trot out some anti-woke culture-warrior and a tired promise of lowering taxes or cutting red tape or something, the Lib Dems will mumble something vaguely high-mindedly centrist, the Green Party aren’t yet close to mass appeal across the board, and the less said about the Faragists, the better.
