Heh, I've been on the receiving of this flirtation. Many years ago now, I just thought they were a cool guy, still hung out with them. To be fair, girls flirted with me too and I thought they were just being cool. My wife is one of the few who cracked me and she just said we should go on a date

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
I made the mistake of tagging along to Fire Island with my girlfriend and her queer friends and I’m sorry to both of the guys who hit on me
Especially the guy who opened with “I want to eat your ass.”
“I want to eat your ass.”
That's one hell of an ice breaker and far more bold than I lol
I was just standing there waiting for the ATM to spit my cash out so I could get drunk enough to come up with a witty response.
You were right there, the line was "thanks, but this the only ATM I'm into right now"
you got a whatsapp or somethin'? Your service could be very handy in a pinch.
lmao if only being a difficult smartass could pay my bills I'd do it all day
It's fire island, I'm a little surprised the ice breaker wasn't sticking his face in OP's ass crack as he said it, from the stories I've been told.
My uncle's best friend used to go way back in the day, and from the stories he told me, it was basically just one nonstop public orgy. Of course, this was before AIDS was big, iirc.
I was told by one of my friends not to go out at night for this reason.
Oh, to be a Twink on fire island in the 70s... If I ever get shape shifting and a time machine, it's not going to be my first stop, but it's definitely going to be on the list lmao
It made me feel really frustrated about being straight. I could be having sooo much more sex.
Fire Island
For any non-US people. No it's not the island where Zuko and the gang have the beach episode. It's a real island near New York / Long Island
went bowling yesterday in the city. I live in a small town filled with chud senior citizens retiring to Florida for no property tax. holy shit I forgot how pretty young people are, not just the girls but the guys too?!?! when did this happen?? did estrogen do this???
You getting progged? Might lead to you getting pregged
yeahh 🥹
Felt bad before because I thought a guy was just being nice to me. Then he invited me to hang out and I had to cancel. He called me a tease and started ignoring me and that’s when I realized.
Funny enough I thought I was straight back then, nowadays I still primarily go for women but would probably be down.
The hot, friendly guy at the gym who always compliments me😢
This is why I'm hesitant to go to gay bars. I don't want to break too many hearts. In all seriousness most people that hit on me tend to be super chill about it which I appreciate.
I had this fear and honestly if straight guys were as respectful and understanding as gay guys straight guys would have way more sex.
Just don’t go there to get hit on, or to hit on women who think they’re in a safe space. Go there because you like the vibe and want to have fun. Try to make friends with the guys who hit on you and be a good sport.
ETA: Don't go to a gay bar if you're straight unless you're invited.
Maybe controversial opinion, but I don't think straight guys (or gals) really belong at gay bars.
There used to be a gay bar in my area. Eventually it was mostly straight women. And then it didn't take long after that before it was mostly straight men. Now there are zero gay bars.
I agree. I don't go to gay bars unless I'm invited by a gay person, and I'm aware that I'm a guest in that space because I've seen that happen to a few places.
That’s exactly what happened to one of the only gay dance clubs nearby. Now it’s kinda lame and definitely not gay anymore.
Some guys don't pick up on flirting to a shocking degree.
It's me
I'm that guy
The amount of times I've literally woken up bolt upright in the middle of the night and went "Wait they were flirting... Damn it." is too damn many
Yeah thats me.
It's worse for me because I'm a girl, but I'm autistic and I don't pick up on it either lol
Right in the feels, bro
is diverse sexuality "queer"?
cmiiw i thought queer was a term for gender diverse people
Queer is more of a catchall. You may have been thinking of gender-queer
The number of times this happens. It's nice when it's a chill guy and we can be bros.
