These prices are insane, who buys a phone for ~$2000?

Eh, not really. G dropped the ball this year 100%, but the fold is fine. While helping a family member upgrade their 6 a couple days ago, I poked my head at the new fold, being a 10F owner myself. And it's even more money for essentially a hotfix for the 10F. And they don't offer anywhere near enough trade-in credit to offset that price. That's the problem this year; stagnation and higher costs. That's it, roll credits.

The user who buys a pixel usually won't leave to buy a galaxy, or a motorola, or almost anything else. They don't buy it for the aspect ratio, or to get 5 minutes of fame that they bought the new shiny thing this week. The pixel (nexus) followers are few but incredibly sticky; from my own close social circle, of the... 9? 10? I have converted, only 2 have left for other brands; in the last 14 years. A ~75%+ retention rate over a decade and a half is absolutely wild. Of the other 2, one went iPhone, and one bounces between brands every year.

The pixel fold is going to be fine.
