In this economy? Dayum. Protect it from AI data centers.
100%. I go by this anyway:

It's like... from a decade ago though π€£ I think...
the last one is good ... "nope" xD
Might want to redact the serial number from your pictures. The likelyhood that someone could do something with it is low, but better safe than sorry.
Thanks! I never thought of that... What are the risks?
As far as I know the worst someone could do is mess with the drive's warranty status, but it's a generally good idea to omit unique identifying information from public postings.
Oof, it's a Seagate. Just make sure you backup your important files!
Regardless of the brand or age, backup is a given part of the process.
All drives fail.
I've had probably 2 dozen spinning HDDs over the last 25 or so years. I've only had 2 drive failures, both Seagate, and both less than a year outside the warranty.
Regardless of the numbers from data center reports, etc. showing how reliable they supposedly are, I'll never trust a Seagate with any of my data again.
I've had no Seagate failures in my life thus far, and I've got 5 drives from them by now. Backups aren't optional so I just trust trust the data-center numbers.
From like... A thousand years ago, but yeah π backing up to a cloud, a local HDD and a portable storage device too!
Yaaaaay!!
