Hopefully humans will have been wiped out and cats and elephants are in charge.
All land is bare rock and the oceans are filled to the brim with algae and jellyfish. Too hot and dry for anything else.
There is no way you could've extrapolated today's world from shortly after the last ice age, you cannot extrapolate 10.000 years into the future from now, ESPECIALLY since progress (in every area) has accelerated to unprecedented speeds.
I don't think there's a requirement to be correct
Sure but if you don't have anything to base your prediction on, as in this case, what's the point? There's nothing to discuss because it's all either doomsday scenarios or random fantasy.
We could discuss doomsday scenario or random fantasies.
Please do, I need some lore for my campaign
fantasy or doomsday eh
pessimistic
Mars. It'll look like Mars.
My name is Mars. Elon Mars.
Yabba-Dabba-Doo!!
We either figure it out and leave in a solar punk society or it turns out to be some dystopian hell scape world.
Pretty hard to predict. 10,000 years ago humans were just starting to figure out agriculture, animal husbandry, and pottery. Today, technology is advancing exponentially. If we keep up this trajectory, we'd basically be gods with unfathomable control over ourselves and our environment. If something interrupts this trajectory, we could find ourselves back in the stone age, or extinct.
Few AAA games.
Elder Scrolls 7 will be near completion
Warm and stormy
I know you mean ten thousand years... but coming from the US when I first read that I interpreted it as you being VERY specific about ten years from now and not a thousanth of a year later....
That being said, probably still chasing share holder value as everything burns (hotter) around us.
But one more thousanth of a year could change that!
Probably mostly dead
My best guess is that we will be living in habitats on Earth with a significantly smaller population.
Our habitats will probably be underground and small, to give us better environmental protection. We probably won't own much of anything. Everything of significant value will be rented or leased, so that the government can maintain tight control over every resource available.
Most of our power by that point will either be nuclear fission or fusion. I expect that the surface weather will be too hostile for anything like solar, wind, ect.
I'm going to speculate that most populations along the equator will end up migrating towards the polls due to the extreme volatility of the weather. It'll either result in a horrible war, or countries dissolving as their populace suffers due to famine or environmental disasters.
We'll grow most of our food in hydroponic hot houses. I don't think we'll be eating meat from animals regularly. The majority will be vat grown, and "natural" meat with be a rare and expensive luxury.
Healthcare will be amazing, if you can afford it and if the resources to make drugs are still available. Peptide-based medications will be used to treat a lot of common health issues. Gene editing will be common for genetic diseases. If you need an organ replacement, they'll be able to grow you one. We'll probably be able to live a lot longer, with a higher quality of life.
While we're holed up underground, humanity will likely pursue the stars earnestly. If we're lucky, it'll turn into a collective effort between many countries. If we're unlucky, it'll be a bloody scramble for resources and scientific intel.
Either way, I think humanity will still be here in 10,000 years. I don't think it will be pretty. But, we're insanely adaptive.
Slightly less green.
Cat people have taken over the world
Nah my money's on raccoon people instead
Trash people will inherit the earth
More diseases in nature, bugs and fungus for food. Fossil fuels will be depleted, which made it possible to feed an extra 7 billion. Existing farmland will have accumulated salt. Refined materials (steel, rubber, plastic, glass) will be much more expensive to make. Concrete would be replaced with clay.
Hothouse Earth leading to extinction event. Likely no humans and little other life. If Earth is lucky, it might cool down eventually and another chance at life will occur.

We will all either be transcendent uploaded cyber-furry collectives spread across space governed by dyson sphere gods (or some variant of that).
Or we will be dead.
The Fermi Paradox kinda points to the latter.
OA is a somewhat reasonable extrapolation, though. Its optimistic, but even then, they almost didn't make it.
There will be a sedimentary layer of plastics and rare earth metals. Some more thing will have evolved to be crabs.
A ~~Starbucks~~ data center on every corner.
Very different, and what kind of different will depend heavily on what we do now
According to Nostradamus, this world will be no more long before that. He has pointed to the year 3797 as being the final year that this Earth exists.
Earth will exist.
Humans probably won't.
Nostradamus is unreliable. And wrong.
His track record speaks for itself. This planet won't be here after the year that he predicted. I have no doubt that his prophecy will be accurate, once again. The days on this Earth are numbered, and they will never reach 10.000.
His track record speaks for itself
Anywhere to examine that track record?
The days on this Earth are numbered, and they will never reach 10.000.
I'm fairly certain I have been on this Earth longer than 10,000 days.
Use your intuition to sense whether or not this Earth will be here in the year 10.000 - you'll have your own answer, whatever it may be ✌
Okay. Still, can I see that track record, please?
The earth has been around for 4.5 billion years.
I'm pretty sure it'll make it past what humans consider 3000+.
Blink of an eye to the earth.
Everything Nostradamus wrote was incredibly vague and 3797 was just when he claimed his visions ended, not that the world would end then.
1999, 2000, 2012, 2025, and 2026 have all also been interpreted as the end of the world according to Nostradamus. There's your track record.
Wait. THIS YEAR? fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck
