I'm using Hetzner too, only via sync from proxmox backup server instead of rclone.
I‘m pushing important stuff to Backblaze which is comparatively cheap. If I ever need to restore a full backup, it’s gonna take forever though.
Rsync of my Borg backup repositories to one raspberry pi in my parents' house.
Similar, but VPN to parents house and btrbk to backup my brtfs snapshots and disks.
In fact quite similar. The raspberry pi launches wireguard connection to my home. So, it can be located at my parents' house or elsewhere, it only needs one IP address by DHCP and Internet. With wireguard up with home, I can remotely ssh the raspberry pi to rsync backups and manage it.
A Proxmox backup server running at my parents house, connected via Tailscale. Just backing up all my containers. This makes for a super easy user experience, since it is mostly doable via GUI.
Which reminds me I need to cancel backblaze, since this is what I used as destination before. In combination with kopia

As soon as the world gets some structure again my friend and I plan on setting up a reciprocal s3 buckets in our homelabs
I use borgmatic with a dedicated non-US backup service. Borg isn’t ideal, sometimes three locks get stuck, and it’s anything you can only mount it via FUSE, but it works reliably. I hear the more modern solutions are better, but I don’t want to deal with migrating.
Then I have secondary regular cloud file storage (non-US) that has a write only storage mechanism. I only write encrypted files there, so data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
On macOS I run a custom launch agent script to run borgmatuc hourly, on Linux I use nix+systemd.
I also have a NAS in my basement.
I've helped my parents with a NAS for there Fotos, so they don't lose them.
I also included a extra drive, and set up a reverse proxy to our home.
