The A3-001 is from Saab, not Subaru.
Wooo boy does this need to be top comment.
Good catch.
Grok translation everyone, as reliable as Elon Musk's stock valuations.
It's a "fighter"? Are we imagining drones dogfighting? What's it's main target?
Some of the constraints imposed on fighter jets is life support and G-force limitations for the pilot. Removing the pilot and allowing an on-board computer handle things in the moment (e.g. dogfights) gives an unmanned jet the upper hand.
It's obviously a step toward completely automated war machines, but that's the justification for the "unmanned fighter jet"
Defense budgets.
CCAs or collaborative combat aircraft are the new hotness in military aviation. Basically smaller unmanned fighter jets that work alongside a traditional manned fighter. The idea is that you can have maybe 4 or 5 fighter jets worth of capability but only one of them has a human pilot on board. So the manned fighter can hang back and tell a farther forward one to fire a missile. Is it a wunderwaffen? Is it a boondoggle? Idk man
Which one get's to carry the spool of fibre optic?
probably brown people in west asia
nah, you're right, it's clearly delivering medical supplies.

Got to replace the head gaskets every 10 flights.
Contrails lookin’ like someone’s hitting all the vapes
That was the old Roos
The modern ones spin bearings from no oil due to oil pickups blocked with RTV
And if you push it too hard it will shoot a piston out the side
A lot of companies in Japan have a heavy industries branch or similar. Yamaha has all kinds of verticals as they're happy to sell you a piano or a motorcycle (or both!)
Mitsubishi and it's offshoots has made everything at one point or another. Paper, drugs, TVs, cars, tanks, planes, submarines...
wind turbines, too.
... one of the best fighter planes of World War II...
Major Japanese companies have insane levels of diversification
It's not so much diversification, but the fact that many of them were zaibatsu, the only ones able to do anything other than farming. They just had a huuuuge head start.
The term for it is 'conglomerate'
Subaru used to be a part of Fuji Heavy Industries, who actually started out making aircraft. They've since been renamed to simply "Subaru Corporation", apparently.
Hitachi is the best example
Now I'll know if the plane overhead is piloted by a lesbian! Nice!
Lesbian pilots of the world unite - who's with me!? 🤪
