Having to go to work and act professional. It's a lot of work. That's one reason I do it, though. They say "fake it til you make it." I don't think I've made it, but I do alright in a professional setting. It's mentally exhausting, bordering on physically exhausting. Maybe I should run a cat café or something. I mean, except for the fact that I like paying bills and not living on the street. But otherwise, yeah, running a little café in a small city that hangs Pride flags and "Everyone welcome but ICE" signs and shit like that. Well, at least I have one I go to and support every other weekend, basically when I'm able to.

Idk I guess I'm less of an advocate on what you do is important but rather that the environment you're in is important. Is the environment intently mentally draining? Then maybe it isn't for you. Like for me...I just could not find long term satisfaction in roles that face customers/clients/patients/etc. It was too mentally draining. I felt like I couldn't be "me". I also tried environments where I worked alone. It felt too isolating. For me, the most mentally in tune with me was to find a job where I have other coworkers/people who are my equal, but I do not directly face any sort of patients or customers. It was an environment that actually worked with my nature.

Things like cat cafes do exist out there. Maybe it would make more sense to actually seriously consider a sort of investigation in that direction.

I get it...easier said than done and idk. It's like yeah a high stakes lawyer is going to make more money than someone working at a small cat cafe...but in the end, who has the better life satisfaction? If you can find a way to support yourself, sometimes more money isn't always better.

Idk sorry for my ramble. Hoping all the best for you.

Not strictly a "daily" task but it's a routine, mundane one; calling in sick. I have to speak directly to a manager and although I do not need to cite a reason, my childhood taught me to feel guilty about needing time for myself. The "daily-est" one that makes me anxious is brushing and flossing my teeth. When I was younger I didn't take care of them and my gums bled and hurt a lot. My teeth still generally give me a huge amount of anxiety despite turning all that around over a decade ago.
