I remember being a teen, and getting an exam from a doctor who had a lit cigarette hanging from his lips the entire time. It was the 70s, but even then I thought that was absurd.
I wonder if the association to gasoline or even potential for confusion with gasoline is deliberate here

It has to be. The general concept of “gas“ doesn’t have a particular smell, but gasoline does.
I just say it's hard to follow the text. It's more confusing than anything else.
It's marketing copy for cigarettes. It can't make sense, or it would have to say "Don't buy this, it will definitely kill you."
I blame it partly on English being what it is.
It is badly written though. I'm not even sure at the end who's got the good gas
