none of this work is by me, i'm just writing a guide to have some off-reddit resources

back up your device first, this process involves flashing an autoloader which will completely wipe your storage. you need a windows machine to use the autoloader.

after rooting, you can install unsigned bar files (new apps can finally be made for this os) and you can use nvram tricks to carrier unlock your device

rooting will NOT let you install android, or upgrade the android runtime, or run any other sort of custom firmware.

the autoloader is available here https://bb10.root.sx/blog/pre-rooted-autoloaders-v2 (Q20/classic/leap use same firmware as Z30)

you will also need blackberry device drivers, which you can source on cb https://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-android-os-f456/last-version-windows-usb-drivers-android-blackberry-1194268/

install the driver, plug your phone into your computer, and run the autoloader - if it doesn't detect the phone, unplug and close the window & try again. once it starts flashing your phone, DO NOT unplug & wait about 10 minutes for the process to finish. once it is done, complete the initial set up, and wait a little longer until the device has a notification saying it has been rooted successfully. you are now free to install unsigned bar files using DBBT or sachesi. you may need to reboot the phone before being able to install android apps. happy hacking
