Do people not compare chips on comparison websites anyway? I don't remember all the processor details, especially between AMD and Intel. I just look them up when I get a new one.

The problem is the average consumer isn't going to do that. They think any i7 is going to be better than an i5, even if it's 6th Gen compared to 11th. Or they're going to look at an 11th gen i3 and think it'll out perform a 10th Gen i7 because "it's a newer generation! They wouldn't make a product slower than their last gen!"

While you and I will look up benchmarks, core speed, core count, cache, etc before making a purchase, my grandma won't, and that's who these numbers are for

Tech-savvy people do, but their naming scheme preys on non-savvy people by increasing the number, which leads people to believe it is newer so it has to be better. Names are useless these days.

Country prefixCountry prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.
