Lemmy isn’t a for-profit endeavor, so allusions to capitalism are misplaced. Why the funds might be distributed that way, I haven’t the faintest idea, but I can dream up just as many benign reasons for it as I can nefarious ones.

Instead of drumming up Lemmy drama based on conjecture, you could have asked the developers directly for clarification.
