I'm learning traditional Chinese, the one used in Taiwan and an etymological dictionary is really a good idea to understand what each character is composed of.

I found zhongwen.com online and while it is a very good idea, it is so hard to read what each character is made of, because text is so small.

Furthermore, I cannot copy and paste text, as it's all an image, which is odd.

Is there any way to enlarge the characters?

I'm on debian 13.6, browser is firefox, sometimes I use librewolf

I know the site but i never payed that much attention to the text size because i'm not learning Chinese. Yes it's weird that everything is an image. I started using this Chinese handwriting input site to get characters as text, but that's obviously impractical if you need more than a couple characters.

The text size can be improved by zooming in the page. On Firefox (default in in mostt DEs, i think) you hold control and scroll up or press the plus key.

I wonder if the site is so old that it was written before there was a better way to display Chinese in HTML. I don't know any of its history tho.

Maybe CtrlShift+ or Ctrl+MouseWheel? It work for me to enlarge the page.

I think that website is just very old, so they made everything as images instead of trying to get chinese characters rendering on early browsers.

How does this show up?
