Pray harder. Prayers are like bullet proof vests for children. Conservatives have been trying to convince us of this for years.

[-] CalypsoGirl@lemmy.today 14 points 13 hours ago

Hmm, if only something could be done about this guns-in-schools-obliterating-children problem 🤔

The NRA clearly values guns more than human life. This is some seriously fucked-up sick agenda.

[-] eah@programming.dev 6 points 12 hours ago

Capitalization is also wrong. The school district needs to quit its job as a school district.

[-] IEatDaFeesh@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

That's also possibly the only part that might not have been AI lmao

[-] k0e3@lemmy.ca 16 points 14 hours ago

What is it about AI characters and their facial expression that bother me? Is it because they try to use them in very complex context but can't convey anything more than an emoji? There's this creepy feeling like their eyes stare into the void.

[-] AlteredEgo@lemmy.ml 1 points 21 minutes ago

I'm going to unironically say this is a skill issue with the prompt engineering.

Like you can imagine this is just some stupid prompt like "Characters A to F look very very sad at the bulldog crying on teh floor" or something like it. Like nothing that describes or shows how fucked up this situation is or some variety. It's like "licked clean" of any kind of nuance. It makes you feel as empty as the heart of the one who generated it.

Compare that to some better AI slop (music video) that just goes in the other direction and throws the weirdness that AI can generate and then tries to form that into some kind of cohesive thing. Like you can hate it but the editor who assembled this layered it into something more complex, even though the individual scenes are pretty random and slop. At least the lyrics are (I think) human written.

Now imagine OP images with this kind of gusto about mascots reacting to a school shootings. Obviously it's much less fun if it's about anything serious.

The comic sans really lends an air of solemnity to the whole thing.

[-] webp@mander.xyz 16 points 17 hours ago

Why is there a heart on the dog's crotch

[-] ChillCapybara@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 2 hours ago

He’s got a heart on

[-] TrapRag@lemmy.world 24 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

For the same reason the otter is holding a dismembered arm, it's just ai slop.

[-] luciferofastora@feddit.org 12 points 15 hours ago

The wolf on the right has a paw on its shoulder

[-] HereIAm@lemmy.world 8 points 14 hours ago

Are you saying it's not normal to dislocate your arm to give yourself some self love?

[-] luciferofastora@feddit.org 6 points 14 hours ago

Considering that its left hand (right side from the viewers' perspective) has a thumb on the side turned inwards, away from us, it stands to reason that the other hand would have one as well, on the opposite side facing us. But the paw on the shoulder doesn't have one. So that's a second left paw.

I suspect it's holding a dismembered wolf's left arm with the right, behind its back and reaching up, which would also help make it feel more like someone else's paw.

I'm pretty sure that putting a dismembered arm on your shoulder is a bit odd.

[-] luciferofastora@feddit.org 3 points 14 hours ago

No. Do you have an arm to spare?

[-] TrapRag@lemmy.world 4 points 13 hours ago

Not at the moment, but if anything happens you'll be first in line 😁

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 4 points 14 hours ago

What is this furry shit? /s

[-] FireWire400@lemmy.world 6 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

I've been hearing AI radio commercials more and more lately and while they don't actually sound bad for annoying commercials I wonder what all of those voice actors will do now...

[-] Evotech@lemmy.world -2 points 14 hours ago
[-] tquid@sh.itjust.works 2 points 12 hours ago

Or homelessness. Or suicide.

[-] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 12 points 1 day ago

My job sends AI slop like this every morning.

Like a AI art thing with our logo, followed by dumb shit like "Labor day fun!" Or "school is in session!"

[-] HerbalGamer@sh.itjust.works 5 points 15 hours ago

How's your spam folder holding up?

[-] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 day ago

Thank God there have been enough school shootings in the past so we could learn how to be creative in our grief. /s

[-] TheMinister@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago

They weren’t even being creative. It’s AI slop. To commemorate another school shooting. He future is bleak.

[-] Yew@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

"We won't actually do anything about gun control. Here's an AI meme of sad mascots instead."

[-] MrSmith@lemmy.world 5 points 13 hours ago

The bird ir glad.

That bird is strangely satisfied by the whole thing. Definitely smiling. I know where I'd start looking for the perpetrator.

[-] Impleader@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago

That MF bird knows something

[-] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 1 points 2 hours ago

He probably planned it and sent the shooter.

I don't have a problem with the sentiment behind this picture. I don't even have a problem with the AI art style. But don't people critically examine their work before using it?

How hard would it have been to tell the AI "Hey, please remove the extra hand on the wolf's shoulder? It doesn't belong there." Isn't that a thing you can do?

The main problem with AI slop isn't that it's slop, it's that so many people think the raw slop is acceptable without any refinement.

[-] jj4211@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

Once they have that much care and thought, then they probably would have the thought of asking the art teacher or art students to do something vaguely meaningful.

[-] FireWire400@lemmy.world 5 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago)

Something like this should have more thought and intent behind it than "let's just ask AI to do it"

[-] Smoogs@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

or they could get a human artist that understands life to do it.

[-] DanceMomsSavedMe@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

My daughters school cut their aftercare program because of lack of funding.

No chance in hell they have an artist budget

[-] jj4211@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

They would presumably have an art teacher. Or a student that wanted to express their feelings via art.

[-] Smoogs@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

but still no one is nor should be obligated to like slop

[-] tazeycrazy@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

But that will take time. We need to get this to the Facebook pages before then next disaster. We don't want to be the third most relevent school shooting in the algorithm. /S

That wolf has a spare hand on his shoulder.

[-] Thorry@feddit.org 12 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

That's less disturbing than the otter who appears to be holding a cut off arm to comfort the bulldog. Perhaps he's offering it as a snack?

And the woodpecker is kinda into the whole deal? Why is he smiling?

[-] thallamabond@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

The Otter has what is called a Bear Arm. Referencing his right to...
