Rich people raise price of a thing because they can. Not because they have to.

I kind of agree with you, but do you really think the billionaires are doing the trading themselves, and making their own money?
This is 100% brought on by a massive amount of people sucking up to the rich, more than the rich themselves would ever be able to cause problems.
Just look at USA, half the population is sucking up to Wall Street and the Oligarchs, thinking that getting rid of an also struggling immigrant will solve the problem of them not getting their fair share. It's the people who are sick too, most people are just stupid, to a degree where it looks like insanity to a person of normal intelligence.
The people making money for the rich are rewarded with scraps, and most accept it all the way down to the level where you aren't paid a living wage for your work.
The problem is that empathy has given way for psychopathy in society. So now everybody is tearing each other apart and kicking down, because people are morons.

Remember when it went negative in 2020? We should have overthrown Capitalism as soon as the RTO requests hit our inboxes.

Aside from all the other factors that would push oil prices up, some real, some artificial to keep profits high...

Maybe having multiple tankers hit and presumably spilling oil into the water might be some effect. The front, side, and back falling off. Not very typical of how tanking crude oil should go.
