That's me, how can i help you 😭

When I was 20, I worked in a call center as a customer rep for a phone company. There was a guy who called every day, several times, with the sole objective of making someone's day miserable with their foul mouth. As with any other company in the field, dumb policy made you unable to talk back or even hang up so you had to weather the storm. His calls were so disturbing that was the first customer the company blocked so he couldn't call again. The guy however started calling from burner phones, then from neighbour phones... He just liked abusing workers and the company didn't care at all.

We had one of those too, but after reaching the state you describe at the end, my company actually sued him for harassment after a while, which shut that down (at least for us, those people tend to just switch targets). We also had 2 stalkers over the years, one of them was describing what people were wearing, making clear that he had line of sight into the call center (it was in a very low density area with a wide view, someone with a good telescope could have been miles away) - in this case the police was involved immediately and they hired a security guard for the night shift. I have many complaints about my former employers, but this at least was handled the way it should be.

That's when they realized they were the least liked employee.

when i worked in a customer service call center, i was too good at the job. i got company awards, people called back nearly every day saying how wonderful i was and all that shit...

this was not a good thing.

i got 'promoted'.

no pay increase, and i got an even worse cubicle out of the deal.

the new promotion came with a new priority task:

i was the rep that got all the 'bad' callers. every fucking one of them.

I was the least-liked employee because I ignored company policy and did everything I could to help resolve people’s problems.

least-liked by your employer or your colleagues too?

My husband almost got fired doing that, call time was much more important than actually helping people.

As the saying at a cable company I used to work for goes: "When in doubt transfer out!" Customer getting mouthy? They're Billing's problem now! Internet speed not what we promised you? Sounds like an issue for Sales!

Customer support is a misery factory.
