Meh. I think it's amusing, not offensive.

"In other words, we think AI should be voiced by AI - not to offend AI. This feels especially important nowadays, with AGI almost here. That's all we can say, unpacking the whole AI cultural narrative isn’t really our place."

Ah yes, of course! AI characters must be voiced by AI, or you'll hurt ChatGPT's feelings. You don't want to make ChatGPT cry!

with AGI almost here.

Sure, it will arrive almost at the same time their dad will, with the milk.

I feel like these people insult humanity every time they figuratively 'open their mouths.'

Also, I want to say "AGI is nowhere near" but then I realized that we really do already have software as vapid as these people are. I guess, to be fair, that looks like proper, true intelligence from the perspective of someone who has none of their own. :-\

Some Roko's Basilisk nonsense. I wish I could take it as a joke but truly there's no guarantee anymore

"We thought having the ai voiced by ai would be cute" would have been acceptable, had they paid a voice actor to train the model. It doesn't say in the article but I'm assuming they used some off-the-shelf model, which is tantamount to theft unless the company selling it in turn paid for use of everything in their corpus.

The "take that, liberal snowflakes" framing is beyond crazy.

Cringe to be offended by that

I'm not quite sure what the fuss is about with this one - I thought it was quite a clever joke, and I don't really think there's anything distasteful about it. Still, the game is of no interest to me whatsoever.

Feels like manufactured outrage to farm engagement

I guess they wanted people to know they were chuds by telling the one chud joke: "Are you triggered yet, wokies? Tee-hee, we're so naughty! 🤭"

[-] LostWanderer@fedia.io 2 points 1 day ago

LOL Well, that was certainly wild...Very chud of them, looks like they are on the ignored studio list. Good job.
